Great self-publishing packages for the small business owner who wants to boost their business and stand out from the crowd

The Edit and Proofread package

Every book needs a good edit. (Yep, even those big bestsellers and literary masterpieces went through several rounds of edits.) This package is perfect for people who have written their book and already have the design side sorted or are planning on organising the rest of their book themselves.

The Edit and Proofread package includes a consultation with your editor, who will have a look at your manuscript and recommend the level of editing required. They will also provide you with a sample edit for your approval before editing your whole book, so you know just what to expect when you get your edit back. After the edit is complete, your book will be sent to a proofreader (a different person from your editor) to give your book a final read and find any little things that you and the editor may have overlooked. (Hey, even editors are human and don’t see every misplaced comma!)

Once your proofread is complete, your book will be returned to you, and you'll also receive our post-publishing guide which is full of hints and ideas to help you get the most out of your new book.

The Design and Layout package

This is like the design version of the Edit and Proofread package. (In fact, you could combine the two packages into one – just ask us about how this works!) In this package, all you get is design and layout.

This package includes a customised cover design by one of our highly experienced designers and an interior design to suit the content and target market of your book. Both the interior and cover designs are created in close consultation with you to ensure we are all on the same page (pun intended).

Once you are happy with your interior design we will complete the interior layout, which is a fancy way of saying we’ll put all your words, diagrams, tables and anything else into a book format.

With the Design and Layout package, you will also receive an ISBN (international standard book number) and a barcode for your book, and cataloguing with the National Library of Australia (basically, this means we list your book with the big library in Canberra).

Upon completion of your design and layout, we will provide you with final print-ready files that you can send off to the printer.

The Small Business Booster package

This package is specially designed for small business owners who want to self-publish a book to build their profile, promote their business and stand out from their competitors.

The package includes all the self-publishing essentials, such as editing, proofreading, design and layout, ISBNs (one for your printed book and two for your ebook – we’ll explain why you need two for the ebook), barcode and National Library cataloguing. As part of this package you will also receive 200 paperback copies of your book printed by Australia’s leading book printer (think Harry Potter books) and 200 bookmarks. (Custom bookmarks  are used by many of the business authors we work with as a nice complement to the book – whether you sell the book or give it away, a bookmark is a nice little extra.)

To ensure that your book is available worldwide, we will also create an ebook and print on demand version and upload them to all the big guns, such as Amazon, iBooks and Book Depository.

As part of the Small Business Booster package, we also offer you a 3D digital book image that you can use when marketing your book on your website, on social media, in advertising – basically wherever you want. And we’ll also provide a sample PDF of a couple of your book chapters that you can use as a ‘teaser’ or a giveaway.

And if that wasn’t enough, we will also provide you with 12 months post-publication support and advice, and a copy of our post-publishing guide (which includes some great info on book launches and how to do some basic PR).

The Works

The name pretty much says it all with this one. We will literally take your book from a Word doc and turn it into a book.

The Works comes with a 45-minute strategy session where we discuss the ins and outs of your book, focus on what you want to achieve and, of course, how you want your book to look. The Works includes editing, proofreading, cover and interior design, layout, ISBNs, barcode and cataloguing. We will also format and upload an ebook and print on demand version for distribution worldwide through Amazon, Book Depository, iBooks and all of the major retailers (and some smaller ones you probably haven’t heard of). You also receive a special MHP discount to get an audiobook version created by expert audiobook creator Author2Audio.

This package includes 400 printed paperback copies of your book, along with bookmarks and bookshop distribution with Australia’s leading independent book distributor.

And for the marketing side, we’ll provide you with a 3D image of your book cover, a sample PDF of some of the chapters from your book, and the MHP post-publishing guide. And if you have any questions after your book is completed, this package comes with 12 months post-publication support and advice.
